At Navis Health, we provide 24/7 medical care and supervision to individuals who are detoxing from drugs and alcohol, as well as therapeutic services including individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and a robust discharge planning program.
With six hours of clinical groups per day, two individual therapy sessions per week, and 24/7 clinical support available, the program’s primary focus is creating a safe and secure environment in which clients can detox and then utilize our residential programming to begin working through any underlying co-occurring mental health issues.
During the first few days of a drug and alcohol detox, rest is extremely important. Clients ease into their mornings with scheduled time specifically for waking up, getting ready for the day, breakfast, and meeting with a member of the medical team. The nursing staff spends time with each client individually in order to check their vital signs, assess their withdrawal symptoms, and administer any medications that were prescribed.
After breakfast, clients are invited to join staff and their peers in the common area for morning group. This is a time for clients to share how they’re feeling emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. This is time for staff to assess the daily needs and goals of each client. Topics range from things such as self-esteem, relationships, trust, and relapse prevention, and are led by a licensed therapist or addiction counselor.
Lunch is prepared by our on-site culinary team and served family style daily. After lunch, they are invited to join our clinical staff and their peers in the afternoon group. Topics covered include mindfulness, life skills, managing cravings, and coping skills.
After dinner, clients are invited to join a sober member of the community for an on-site recovery meeting. These community-led meetings rotate between 12-Step, SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery.
After the recovery meeting is finished, clients are given time to wind down and begin wrapping up their day. This is a time for clients to connect with their family members via phone, journal, and talk with each other.
Before lights out, medications are administered as needed and clients have time to check in with medical staff before they're asked to join one last group.
To close out the day, clients gather one last time for Nightly Reflection. Led by a member of the behavioral health team, this short group is an opportunity for clients to focus on gratitude and reflect on the events of the day. Clients are asked to share how they’re doing mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. They are also given the opportunity to make any amends to their peers or staff for things that were said or done during the day.
